The Australia-Korea Business Council (AKBC) launched the report Food for thought on Wednesday 16 February 2022.

This thought leadership report, Food for thought: Four key trends Australian food and beverage exporters need to know before entering the Korean market, outlines detailed and vital insights into current food and beverage trade with Korea. The report also discusses emerging opportunities, together with lessons learnt so Australia’s food and beverage sector can succeed in Australia’s third largest export market, Korea. There are details on how improvements can be made by producers and government going forward. Research in the report points to ways trade policy settings with Korea can be tweaked to grow markets.

The report outlines four key trends Australian food and beverage exporters need to know before entering the Korean marketplace – demographics, e-commerce, covid-19 impact and origin. It also canvasses some of the most important cultural intricacies that are critical to successfully doing business in Korea. Four Australian companies and one Korean importer are also profiled in the report, sharing their export journeys and recipes for success.
