Technology and Innovation

Technology and innovation are playing an increasingly important role in the Australia-Korea bilateral relationship, supported by growing collaboration across artificial intelligence (AI), advanced manufacturing, biotechnology, clean technology, digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, robotics, fintech, mobility, and other emerging industries. As both countries continue investing in future-focused economic growth, there are expanding opportunities for collaboration between businesses, universities, research organisations, startups, investors, and governments across the Australia-Korea corridor.

Korea is recognised globally for its leadership in semiconductors, telecommunications, electronics, batteries, life sciences, and smart manufacturing, supported by significant investment in R&D and commercialisation. Australia’s strengths in research, critical technologies, medical research, startup ecosystems, and commercial innovation complement Korea’s advanced industrial and technology capabilities. Together, these strengths are creating new opportunities across digital health, medtech, energy solutions, mobility, defence-related technologies, and smart infrastructure.

This sector connects members with companies, investors, research institutions, accelerators, universities, government stakeholders, and innovation partners across both countries. It supports engagement across AI, life sciences, digital transformation, venture capital, startup collaboration, smart cities, health technology, and future industries, while helping members navigate evolving market trends, policy developments, and commercial opportunities between Australia and Korea.
