The Australia-Korea Business Council (AKBC) is pleased to launch our latest Report - Food for thought at a hybrid event, on Wednesday 16 February 2022, at PwC office in Perth as well as virtually. The launch will be held from 10.30AM AWST / 1.30PM AEDT. At this event, you will hear from Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Hon Dan Tehan, AKBC Executive Director Liz Griffin, a number of Australian businesses currently exporting to Korea as well as a Korean importer.
The AKBC is at the forefront of communicating insights into the Korean market and our latest thought leadership piece, Food for thought, discusses the emerging opportunities for Australia’s food and beverage sector to succeed in Australia’s third largest export market, Korea. The report outlines four key trends that Australian food and beverage exporters need to know before entering the Korean market, including demographics, e-commerce, covid-19 trends and the importance of origin and also canvasses some of the most important cultural intricacies that are critical to successfully doing business in Korea. A number of Australian companies are also profiled in the report, sharing their export journey and their recipes for succeeding in the Korean market. A Korean importer also shares their experience on importing an Australian beverage; providing tips and advice on how to overcome common hurdles - a fantastic insight for Australian exporters considering expansion into Korea.
With the Korea-Australia Free Trade Agreement (KAFTA) implemented in 2014, Australian exporters now enjoy improved market access, and with our clean and green image, the Korean market is rife with opportunity.
AKBC members, non-members and journalists are invited to attend the launch event in-person (noting limited spaces available) or virtually to learn more about the opportunities in the Korean market.
