2022 Australia-Korea New Energy Forum

-

Join us for first-hand insights into Australian and Korean policy directives and industry perspectives in the rapidly expanding area of new energy as the world focuses on transitioning to a decarbonised future.

Korea’s new administration has reaffirmed its commitment to net zero by 2050, assuring sustained momentum in its transition to new energy while bolstering energy security. Furthermore, the new administration is seeking to diversify its energy supply chain and continue driving energy technology innovation in light of the country’s high dependence on imports and commitment to developing the new energy industries.

Seeking sustainable, secure sources of new energy and leading energy innovation necessary for its new energy transition therefore remain imperative for the Asian powerhouse. With an abundance of natural resources, Australia is favourably poised as a preferred export partner to fuel Korea’s energy transition in the long-term. Korea views Australia as an ideal, long-term, major supplier of key new energy materials – building on a robust bilateral trade relationship bolstered by shared values and a long-standing strategic partnership.

Yet as both countries adjust to geopolitical realities, new administrations, and an increased focus on decarbonisation, questions remain as to how their governments plan to support industry and establish the necessary frameworks to capitalise on these bilateral opportunities.

How will the administrations of Korea and Australia, and their respective business communities, approach the new energy sector and arising mutually beneficial opportunities?

Brought to you by the AKBC and Korean Embassy in Canberra, the 2022 Australia-Korea New Energy Forum will bring together key industry and government representatives from Australia and Korea. This important event will provide attendees with in-depth discussion of key market developments, substantive policy directives, and industry views as Korea and Australia seek energy security and expanding markets in new energy.
