At an investor day event in Seoul, the company's president announced a target of 12.2 trillion won (US$9.2 billion) in sales from these new growth businesses by 2023. The move follows the company's strategic shift towards battery materials, waste recycling, renewable energy, and green hydrogen as key growth drivers. To achieve this, Korea Zinc will invest 12 trillion won (US$9.1 billion) in these initiatives, known as its "Troika Drive," from 2024 to 2033.
The company aims to significantly increase the production capacity of key lithium-ion battery raw materials and plans to focus on recycling end-of-life solar panels and waste batteries. Additionally, it aims to generate sales from renewable energy, including green hydrogen, and involve its Australian affiliates in major projects. 🇦🇺 🇰🇷
