Jeju Island to host the World Environment Day in 2025

📢 NEWS 📢

Jeju Island will be home to World Environment Day in 2025, a UN-led program aimed at engaging people across the globe to protect and restore the Earth.

Held every year on the 5th of June, 2025’s World Environment Day will focus on ending plastic pollution and safeguarding the world’s oceans.

Jeju’s Special Self-Governing Province has been recognised by the UN Environment Programme for its sustainability efforts. Most notably, it was the first province in the country to introduce a disposable cup deposit system.

Korea last hosted World Environment Day in 1997.
