CJ is starting Kimchi production in Australia

CJ CheilJedang, one of Koreaโ€™s biggest food manufacturers, is starting Kimchi production in Australia under their brand Bibigo. CJ will be selling locally-made Kimchi alongside Kimchi exported from Korea. This is a response to the increasing demand for freshly made kimchi in Australia, utilising locally sourced ingredients to differentiate these products from traditional Korean exports.ย

ย

Kimchi, a fundamental element of Korean cuisine, holds significant cultural importance beyond being just a dish. The availability of 900g packages of Australian-produced Kimchi suggests a rising trend of Australians embracing Korean food, not only in restaurants but also in their homes.

ย

As Australians increasingly explore Korean culinary traditions, we see K-food becoming a pivotal link between the two cultures. This growing interest in Korean culture through food has the potential to strengthen the connection between Australia and Korea.
